Four words that encapsulate me best. I’m trying to share things worth sitting with while being useful where I can to those around me; from simply holding open doors to helping people solve hard problems.
As every action or inaction is a choice and every direction comes with trade-offs, the things we do through our lives and work have the potential to send a ripple of goodwill in a imperceptibly viral way—if I can put a smile on someone’s face or make them feel a little less stressed through the products I help make, they too will pay it forward.

Kia ora. Hi. Welcome. This is me; the guy typing these words (I had to put my thumbs down first).
PS: Yes, that was a deliberate em dash above, and don’t expect it to be the last—I’ve always loved these versatile, 600-year-old punctuation marks for giving my side-thoughts some space, no matter AI claims I may receive.
some things I’ve done
I’ve been a people leader and informal coach, experience researcher, designer, product person, engineer, podcaster, special events coordinator, meetup host, conference panellist, comedy show co-producer, stand-up and improv comedy performer, blogger, musician, FM radio DJ, line cook, camp counsellor, and acted as a general catalyst for change all my life.
But if you were after a more traditional sense of titles…
- Design Researcher Manager (Kiwibank)
- Customer Experience Manager (Kiwibank)
- Experience Strategy Consultant (Hato Hone St John Ambulance)
- Meetup Event Host & Social Media Manager (UX Auckland)
- Product Owner + UX Lead (Northrop Grumman Mission Systems)
- Software Development Engineer & QA Intern (Northrop Grumman Mission Systems)
- Dining Hall Student Manager (Virginia Tech Dining Services)
- Cook (Sal’s Pizzeria — after I applied to be a Bus Boy at 15, but they didn’t need another one, so they asked if I would rather be in the kitchen instead… ummm… yes, please?)
For what else I’ve been up to, see what I’m up to /now and check out my LinkTree.
